Home remedies to take care of your skin during confinement

There are multiple tricks that we can put into practice during these days of confinement to take care of the health of our skin. Discover in this post the advice and recommendations of our specialist Dr. Antonio García, so that despite the situation, we look radiant and healthy.

On Tuesday of this week Dr. Antonio García, with Ruth Labory (@ruthlabory passionate about sport, fashion and beauty) and through an Instagram Live, gave us a list of tips and tricks to take care of our skin at home with 100% natural and effective ingredients. Keep reading because they are all tip without waste!

The Doctor as a general rule and to increase the body's defenses recommends taking a pineapple juice smoothie with 10 leaves of mint in the morning (10 without are large, 20 if they are small) and ginger. He also recommends eating a teaspoon of garlic in the morning and on an empty stomach, which provides our body with antioxidants that delay the signs of aging on the skin.

Regarding the care for the face, neck and décolleté, the Doctor recommends carrying out a beauty routine with 100% homemade and natural ingredients that will successfully contribute to the homogenization of the skin's texture and luminosity. We list the steps to follow:

  • Step 1: Perform a gentle exfoliation with lemon juice and sugar (preferably brown that has a finer consistency). Let it work for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.
  • Step 2: Step 2 will depend on your skin type and goals you want to achieve, in this regard:
    • Normal or dry skin: If you have normal or dry skin and your interest is to homogenize the skin, close pores and improve texture, the recommendation is to simply spread lemon juice on the face and leave it on for minutes. You can apply it with a fluid makeup brush previously washed and disinfected with alcohol.
    • Spotted skin: If your goal is to remove stains, the advice is to make a mask with turmeric and pineapple juice (that is a little pasty), and leave it on for minutes. Turmeric has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties and is a wonderful health ally that should never be missing in your pantry.
    • Acne or oily skin: For this type of skin, Dr. Antonio García recommends making a mask with baking soda and lemon juice, leaving it on for minutes and rinsing. This combination also contributes to lighten the tone and eliminate stains and scars.

In all cases, a little black pepper could be applied to enhance the absorption of the skin and rinse with warm water. However, if you suffer from rosacea or any special skin condition, this type of mask is not recommended, as it could be very abrasive and worsen the condition.   • Step 3: The last step is to hydrate in depth, but likewise the ingredient will depend on the type of skin:
    • Normal or dry skin: Apply coconut oil mask and let dry. Dr. says that coconut is excellent for the skin not only of the face, but of the whole body, it has antioxidant and antiseptic properties.
    • Acne or oily skin: Apply a honey mask on the face, neck and décolleté and let dry. Honey has incredible antioxidant properties and moisturizes the skin naturally without adding oil.

For incredible and long-lasting results, you should do this routine 2 to 3 times a week and at night; and the next day apply sunscreen (full screen) every 3 hours. The application of sunscreen is essential because all the ingredients can generate spots on the skin exposed to the sun.
