The main cause of the loss of elasticity and the stretching of the eyelids is the normal process of the passage of time. The first manifestations of normal skin wear occur between the ages of 30 and 40 and progress every decade according to our genetic factors and lifestyle habits.

The loss of elasticity in our eyelids, their successive muscular weakening and the appearance of fat structures, makes us look dwarfed, haggard, look sadder or tired, and this throws us years down, which can influence our state of encouragement and transmit a perception to others that is not the real one. All of which can be improved thanks to the expert hands of our specialist the Dr. Antonio García.

How can we help you at CSE | Clínica Salud Estética to improve your look?

At present, the changes generated by the passage of time in our face and body can be reversed, because we have Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, which has experienced a great advance in its techniques that benefits both men and women who want to see and feeling better.

Medicine continuously gives us its advances in surgery and treatments, which is an opportunity to renew deteriorated physical aspects, as in this case, through eyelid surgery or  Blepharoplasty in order to restore the original and clear appearance in the eye area.

In our Clinic located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife we have the Dr. Antonio García, who was trained in this technique in the Moorfields Eye Hospital from London and has carried out countless blepharoplastic procedures throughout his long professional career.

CSE ¡Clínica Salud Estética is the first Comprehensive Aesthetic Health Unit in the Canary Islands, founded and directed by Dr. Antonio García, of great recognition and prestige within and outside the archipelago.

How is the blepharoplasty surgical procedure?

Eyelid surgery can be done on one or both eyelids (upper and lower). Dr. Antonio García uses local anesthesia and sedation, so that the patient falls asleep in a light sleep while the infiltration of anesthesia and surgical intervention lasts. There is no possibility of pain and if the intervention is only of the upper eyelids it is ambulatory.

Our surgeon makes incisions in the natural folds of the upper eyelids, and removes excess skin that has previously been defined as hanging. There is no scar, in principle you can see a very fine line that is not visible to the naked eye in a short time. As for the lower eyelids, it removes the fat compartments that cause the bags.

He too Dr. Antonio García You can make small modifications, such as accentuating or reducing the eyelid folds and pulling the outer edge (almond-shaped eyes).

What to expect after blepharoplasty postoperative?

When both upper and lower eyelids are operated on, the patient is prescribed to stay overnight in the clinic. During the postoperative period, rest is recommended for the first 4 or 5 days. If bruises appear, they will be minimal.

The recovery from Blepharoplasty is very fast, because it is minimally invasive, does not produce pain and you will quickly notice the change, especially when the area has completely calmed down after some time.
